K1 & K2 Farm Day Out | Shaanthi Montessori, Udumalpet
Sunlight led our Shaanthians from chalkboards to open fields as K1 (77 children) visited Samarayapatti on 3 Feb 2026 and K2 (75 children with 6 teachers) journeyed to Mukkonam Farm House on 4 Feb 2026. What awaited them was a breathing classroom—alive with feathers, hooves, leaves, and laughter.
Children greeted a joyful parade of life: cows and calves, oxen and horses, goats and kids, hens, cocks, chicks, ducks, doves, geese, dogs, and fluttering birds. Tiny hands fed animals, gentle fingers collected eggs, and curious ears tuned into every bleat, cluck, and whinny. Under teacher-guided wonder, they learned who eats what, who lives how, and why care matters.
Orchards added their own stories—jackfruit, water apple, fig, custard apple, chickoo, coconut, guava, starfruit—turning tasting and touching into discovery. Nature became a living picture book, and each child a page-turner. Return gifts closed the visits with smiles that lingered long after the gates swung shut.
How this shapes Shaanthians:
It grows vocabulary through living encounters, empathy through gentle care, science through senses, and confidence through doing—planting roots of stewardship and curiosity that stretch far beyond the farm.
The fields fell quiet when we left, but wonder stayed loud in every heart.
