When Young Hearts Turned Toward Service

Interact Club, Shaanthi ICSE School – Periyakottai | 29–30 January 2026

In two tender, purposeful days, Shaanthians stepped beyond classrooms and into the wider world, discovering that kindness, courage, and care can travel far when carried by young hands.

On 29 January, Interactors visited four Anganwadi centres—Kanamanaikanoor Main, Kanamanaikanoor-LD Colony, Chinna Veerapam Patti, and Malayandipattinam—where smiles were exchanged like sunshine. Children shared stories and play, while our students gently observed the spaces: learning corners short of books and toys, art tables in need of paper and colours, floors longing for mats, and hygiene shelves waiting for soap, first-aid, and mosquito care. By day’s end, needs were gathered—and a promise was made: to return with what little learners deserve.

On 30 January, the campus became a crossroads of awareness as the Road Safety Programme unfolded. With banners, pamphlets, and patient explanations, Interactors reached out to parents, bikers, and school drivers—speaking of signals, speed, helmets, seatbelts, and zebra crossings. Mr. M. Janagarajan lent his voice to the cause, and a mime-drama stirred hearts about distracted driving in school zones. The day closed with a pledge, sealing safety into everyday habit.

How this shapes Shaanthians: These moments sow empathy through service, responsibility through action, and leadership through listening—teaching our students that real education moves feet, not just minds.

Two days, one truth: when children serve, the world grows gentler.
