Pongal Celebration | Shaanthi Montessori School – UDT Campus
On a sun-kissed January morning, our campus breathed harvest joy. Clay met flame, grains met palms, and hearts met heritage as Pongal unfolded not as a program —but as a lived feeling. The hall transformed into a village dreamscape, where kolams welcomed footsteps and sugarcane stood tall like quiet blessings.
Children arrived wrapped in tradition, their smiles brighter than silk borders. Each tiny contribution—rice, dhal, ghee, nuts—found its place in a shared pot, teaching a lesson no textbook can hold: abundance grows when hands come together. As Community Pongal simmered, values quietly took root.
Kummi circled the Mulai Paari in rhythmic gratitude, echoing nature’s promise of renewal. Laughter leapt through village games—some playful, some powerful—where balance, strength, and teamwork became joyful discoveries. From silambam to pallanguzhi, the past gently shook hands with the present.
The celebration closed in reverence. Warm Pongal, shared as prasadam with children and parents, carried more than flavour—it carried thanks. For the sun. For farmers. For togetherness.
