An adventure in courage, safety and real-world discovery!
On 14 October 2026, the S2 students of Shaanthi ICSE School, Mahalingapuram, stepped beyond their classroom to explore the Pollachi Fire Station as part of their Social Studies lesson, Places in the Neighbourhood.
From examining fire engines and firefighting equipment to listening to firefighters explain their vital role during emergencies, the students discovered that these everyday heroes protect lives through courage, skill and preparedness. Their exploration of neighbourhood landmarks further helped them understand how essential services keep a community functioning.
More than a field visit, it was a lesson in life. Such experiences transform textbook concepts into meaningful understanding, nurture curiosity, build practical awareness and teach children to value the people who serve society.
