At Shaanthi ICSE School, Periyakottai, our S7 Biology students stepped into the fascinating world of fermentation through an educational visit to Royal Bakery, Udumalpet. As they observed every stage of bread making—from mixing ingredients and the action of yeast to fermentation, baking, and packaging—they discovered how an invisible microorganism transforms simple ingredients into a staple food, bringing their lesson on Five Kingdom Classification to life.
More than a field visit, it was a lesson in scientific inquiry, observation, and innovation. By witnessing biology at work in a real-world industry, students understood how classroom concepts solve everyday challenges and support modern food production.
