Three days. Three campuses—Mahalingapuram, Udumalpet, and Jothinagar. One big, colorful adventure into India’s story of cloth and craft.
Mid-September found our Shaanthi K2 explorers swapping desks for charkhas and rainbow fabrics. At Khadi Bhavan and Sarvodaya Sangam, doors opened to a world that smelled of cotton and magic. Little palms patted soft khadi, eyes followed whirring wheels, and questions popped like popcorn.
Teachers shared the tale of our khadi flag—brave and proudly handmade—while friendly artisans showed how a simple thread can grow up to be a saree, a shirt, or a dream.
Every corner hid surprises: herbal soaps that smelled like forests, Golu dolls that grinned back, cane chairs that squeaked hello. Children giggled, compared patterns, and learned that shopping can be a story of earth-kind living.
By the day’s end, bags held tiny gifts, but hearts held more: the hum of the spinning wheel and the joy of touching history that still breathes today.
