Morning light met a swirl of giggles as Shaanthi Montessori–Udumalpet’s S1 adventurers stepped into Selva Ganesh Textile Shop on 18 September 2025.
The first greeting wasn’t a hello but a sweet crunch of peanut chikki—an edible welcome that set every little face aglow. Then the magic began: bolts of fabric cascading like waterfalls of colour, shelves stacked with stories in cotton and silk, aisles humming with the quiet music of zippers and folded hems.
Small hands skimmed velvety sleeves, eyes chased flashes of crimson and jade, and questions tumbled out faster than the answers could land. Friendly shopkeepers became storytellers, showing how a single shop can hold worlds—wholesale buzz on one side, cosy retail corners on the other.
Each section offered its own wonder: the sparkle of kids’ wear, the elegance of sarees, the crisp charm of men’s shirts. And just when hearts were already full, a surprise gift tucked itself into tiny palms, sealing the morning with delight.
This wasn’t just a shopping trip; it was a lesson in texture, colour, community, and the joy of simple discoveries—proof that learning can be woven into every fold of everyday life.
