Some classrooms have four walls.
Ours had misty mountains, singing birds, dancing raindrops, and endless shades of green.
The young explorers of Shaanthi ICSE School, Periyakottai, set off on a memorable journey to Attakatti, Valparai, where every winding road unfolded a brand-new surprise. The cool breeze greeted us like an old friend, while the clouds played hide-and-seek among the hills.
At the Hornbill View Point, tiny eyes discovered giant views. During the jungle walk, every rustling leaf became a mystery waiting to be solved. The colourful orchids quietly reminded us that nature loves to paint without limits.
A gentle drizzle soon joined our adventure, turning the weather itself into our teacher. We learned how hills have their own climate, their own plants, and their own amazing wildlife. Listening to the Forest Department officials and watching documentaries helped us understand how every tree, bird, flower, and animal has a special place in this beautiful world.
By the time we returned home, we weren’t just carrying memories.
We carried a little piece of the mountains in our hearts—and a promise to protect the wonderful world that protects us.
