On August 5th, our S5 Shaanthians from Shaanthi ICSE, Periyakottai stepped into the sacred silence of Arjuneshwarar Temple, Kadathur—a 1000-year-old marvel nestled by the Amaravathy River.
As part of their Social studies lesson on India’s Material Heritage, students explored the temple’s carved pillars, sculptures of deities, and weathered inscriptions that carried the spirit of the Chola dynasty. Guided by a monk, they listened to tales of kings, devotion, and how centuries-old rituals still echo within these stone walls.
More than a history lesson, it was a moment of connection—between the young and the ancient, the written and the carved, the river and the rock.
And as they left, the silence of the temple followed—not heavy, but sacred, soft, and unforgettable.
