For our curious S4 historians, history wasn’t a chapter to be memorised — it was a thousand-year-old stone temple waiting to be read. This July, they stepped into the sacred courtyards of the ancient Someshwarar Temple at Anaimalai, a living relic from the majestic days of Raja Raja Chola.
Each weathered pillar, each delicate inscription carved by hands long gone, became a page in time’s secret diary. With notebooks in one hand and wide-eyed wonder in the other, our young explorers learned that true history doesn’t hide in dusty books — it breathes through every chiselled word and echoing corridor.
Amidst shadows and sunlight, the past reached out to them — and they listened. They traced forgotten names, decoded kings’ edicts, and left with a priceless lesson: to truly know the past is to see the present with wiser eyes.
Because at Shaanthi, every stone has a story, and every learner has the courage to listen!
