Once upon a bright August morning, our young Shaanthians stepped beyond their classrooms and into a world of colours, sounds, scents and stories—the world of the market.
At Shaanthi Montessori – UDT, K0 and K1 explored the markets of Udumalpet, discovering vegetables, flowers, shops, weighing and the simple joy of buying and selling.
At Shaanthi ICSE – Jothinagar, K0 enjoyed a cheerful van ride through Pollachi, while K2 explored Gandhi Market, observing vegetables and experiencing simple buying skills.
At Shaanthi International Play School, Mahalingapuram, K2 discovered the vibrant Flower Market, learning about flowers, garland-making, vendors and the journey of flowers from farms to homes and celebrations.
For our little champions, these were more than outings—they were living lessons.
A weighing scale became mathematics.
A vegetable stall became a lesson in healthy choices.
A shopkeeper became a lesson in work and responsibility.
A garland became a lesson in patience and skill.
Most importantly, these experiences taught them that learning lives beyond the classroom. When children see, observe, question and experience, knowledge becomes meaningful and memorable.
They returned with happy hearts and bright eyes, carrying not just memories, but curiosity, confidence and a deeper understanding of the world around them.
