Learning becomes truly meaningful when children step out of their classrooms and experience the world around them. As part of their Social Studies learning, the S3 students of Shaanthi ICSE School, Periyakottai, embarked on an educational field visit to Udumalpet on 3rd November 2026.
The young learners visited the Municipality Office, Taluk Office, Registration Office, Court and Government Hospital. At each place, they gained an understanding of how different government institutions function and serve the public. One particularly interesting aspect was observing the National Emblem of India at the Municipality Office and learning about its significance.
The visit brought their classroom lessons closer to real life, helping them connect what they learn in textbooks with the institutions that form an essential part of society.
Such experiences nurture curiosity, develop social awareness and help children understand their responsibilities as future citizens. After all, some of the most valuable lessons are learnt not merely by reading about the world, but by stepping out and experiencing it!
