At Shaanthi ICSE School, JNR, our S6 students discovered that chemistry is not confined to laboratory benches—it is woven into the products we use every day. During their educational visit to Sabari Soaps, they explored the fascinating journey of soap manufacturing, observing how carefully selected raw materials undergo mixing, processing, drying, cutting, and packing to become a finished product. Through this immersive experience, classroom concepts such as materials, mixtures, chemical changes, and industrial manufacturing came alive before their eyes.
More than a factory visit, it was a lesson in scientific thinking, precision, quality, and innovation. By connecting chemistry with real-world applications, students developed a deeper appreciation for how science improves everyday life while nurturing curiosity, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Experiences like these empower learners to look beyond textbooks, recognise the value of industry and innovation, and grow into confident individuals who are prepared to create, contribute, and lead in an ever-evolving world.
