The K2 children of Shaanthi International Play School, Mahalingapuram set out on a simple yet meaningful village day-out to Vadugapalayam — a quiet place where life moves at a softer rhythm. What began as a short trip soon became a window into a world very different from their own.
As the tiny travellers walked through calm village roads, they noticed how peaceful and open everything felt compared to the bustle of town life. Their teacher guided them through each stop — the Primary Health Centre, the library, the village school, the small market lanes, and the local park — describing how each space supports the everyday life of villagers.
The children observed stalls of fresh vegetables, small roadside shops, a modest playground, and the simplicity of village classrooms. These sights helped them understand that communities thrive not only with large buildings and busy streets, but also with essential services, shared spaces, and a slower pace of living.
This short visit planted something valuable in our Shaanthians — awareness, empathy, and the wisdom to appreciate diverse ways of life. Experiences like these gently shape young minds into thoughtful, grounded individuals who see the world with understanding and respect.
