Udumalpet’s bustling Rajendra Road market turned into a living classroom for our S1 Shaanthi Montessori explorers on 9 September 2025.
Tiny footsteps met the earthy scent of fresh greens and the cheerful calls of vendors. Crates of leafy, root, and marrow vegetables stacked high became more than produce—they became puzzles of color and shape. Wide-eyed children watched as the shopkeeper balanced weights with vegetables, and soon eager little hands tried the scale themselves, delighting in the magic of perfect equilibrium.
From wholesale bustle to the intimacy of retail stalls, every corner offered a new lesson: how trade thrives, how numbers dance on a balance, how voices mingle in a chorus of everyday life. Questions bubbled, curiosity bloomed, and learning happened in the most natural way—through seeing, touching, and doing.
By the time the baskets emptied and the morning sun climbed higher, our young Shaanthians carried home more than memories. They carried the rhythm of a marketplace, the spark of discovery, and the quiet confidence that the world is a wonderful place to explore.
